Enterprise Support Center: Our client had a requirement to provide a "one-stop shop" for all Information Technology support issues. KPCI assisted them with outsourcing the function to a commercial vendor. The site has been operational since 2004 and in 2006 they were able to respond to more than 62k requests. The solution provided by KPCI has allowed our client to reduce admistrative costs from various help desks across the enterprise, increased customer satisfaction, enabled the collection of enterprise metrics, standardized business processes, and provided significant cost savings. The estimated savings are estimated at more than $20M annually.
Website Consolidation: Our client had a requirement to consolidate more than 100 public websites into a single, centrally hosted, web content management system. KPCI worked with them to develop a business case analysis and selected an appropriate web content management tool - Stellent Universal Content Manager. Working with a third-party we managed the development of an information architecture and site design that would meet the requirements of the organization. In addition we assisted with content migration, end user support, and training. The resulting site has allowed the customer to reduce costs through the elimination of web site infrastructure, increase business improvement by allowing all content managers to efficiently manage their content via the web, and increase the security of the content by having it within a single, secure infrastructure. The estimated savings are estimated at more than $1M annually.
Wireless Piers: Our client had a requirement to reduce thr operational and support costs for current pier connectivity while maintaining networtk availability and security. Under KPCI management we developed a prototype for wireless piers connectivity that will increase network availability for the Sailors by 50% with an estimated $20M reduction and fiber umbilical and infrastructure costs for the Navy.
Legacy Infrastructure Reduction: Our client had a requirement to reduce its operational IT footprint in the areas of applications, servers, and networks to meet CNO directed reductions. KPCI worked with several third party companies including CACI and Accenture to develop methodologies to identify reduction candidates and intitiate elimination efforts. Results of the 3 year effort have been quite significant: applications were reduced by 82% (1842 to 335); servers were reduced by 51% (1436 to 690); and networks were reduced by 44% (121 to 67). The estimated savings were in excess of $15M annually.
